20 October 2007 KPFA LSB Resolution on Event Announcements

(Passed 13-0-3)

Whereas Promoting struggles for peace and justice is an essential part of the Pacifica mission; and KPFA currently allows three kinds of public service announcements - pre-recorded announcements ("carts"), community calendar announcements, and "live read scripts" – but all three options are subject to a series of conditions detailed at http://www.kpfa.org/psa/, such as

Candidate forums for this year's delegate elections are scheduled for 8 - 10 pm, on 8 October and 15 October. The forums will feature listener call-ins each hour.

Voting for Visually Impaired -

For those who can’t fill out the ballot form, but have means to read web pages and hand write their choices, the KPFA Election Supervisor is allowing hand written choices to be included in the return envelope WITH THE BALLOT, on which is the unique bar code for each individual that indicates a valid ballot. The Local Election Supervisor will then use the hand written note to fill out the ballot, observed by neutral witnesses.
