Pacificana.Org - all things pacifican

Vida Samiian of Fresno, elected in the 2006 KPFA Listener Delegate election, stepped down in the first half of August 2007. Per the Pacifica Foundation bylaws, Akio Tanaka replaces her as delegate and Local Station Board member for the duration of the three year term.

I'm pleased to report KPFA's Summer Mini-Fund Drive exceeded its goal, earning (as of this writing) roughly $360,000 against a budgeted goal of $340,000 in 8.25 days. Web donations will continue to trickle in for the next week or so.

Congratulations and thanks are due to KPFA's hard-working staff, dedicated phone room volunteers, and generous listeners, all of whom pulled together to ensure the station's continued financial health.

Organizational Overview

Financial Position

We have just completed our March financial analysis. We are showing a reserve in FY’07 of $290,000.

Business Manager Lois Withers and I have begun drafting fiscal ’08 budget. In the coming few months, we look forward to working with the whole LSB, and the finance committee in particular, to complete the budget drafting process. Please let us know the priorities we should consider in terms of allocating resources for special projects.
